UPDATE: My Feelings on the Ol' Birthday Suit

So my latest piece yields quite the touchy subject that has been bouncing around my brain for the past few days, that being toplessness/nuuuuuuuudes.

Personally, I don't mind nudity. Not because I'm a super horned up masculine dog, but because I don't shy away from it when it happens to pop up on my screen. Its the human body, why should I go all soccor mom on it? In fact, I am currently taking a Life Drawing class at my college and I've seen my share of nude people both female AND male and have drawn them. And you know what? I did it respectfully and to the best of my drawing ability, so that was the final verdict for myself. So in terms of looking at it, I'm not much on the cheesecake factor... guess I'm more tame then I originally thought and this is good.

As for drawing it, I used to never do it. One reason being I live with other folks (a lot of other folks) and I didn't want them to stumble upon one of my pencil drawings of a badly drawn pin-up girl. But the biggest reason was that I NEVER did it before. I honestly thought I would suck at the "undercoating" so I didn't really venture into the territorty until maybe 3-5 years ago. That's when I really wanted to draw the actual person. Thanks to digital media its easier for me to practice and I have to say I've come a long way in terms of skill. Now I think its a natural thing that I can draw but only if its neccessary for the character in question, not just cause I want to draw them, showing off to the lurking (not all) peeps of DA. I did it for Ritoru (check latest sub.) cause I set it in an era where bras and/or support aren't really "in", so if her curse happens there'd be nothing to cover with.

This may get me points off in some peoples eyes but I'll try to keep it tasteful and only use nudity as a bonus. So expect clothed characters at least 70% of the time.
